 The Playing Field project restored the lumpy, bumpy field into a good playing surface for the village. We wanted to have somewhere where all sorts of games can be played - football, hockey, cricket etc etc.
It was very much a community project, so if you have a team and want somewhere to play let us know.
The field was purchased thanks to capital grants by Colchester Borough Council and Essex County Council in July 2005 and work has been carried out in full consultation with English Nature, the Environment Agency, Anglia Water, Colchester Borough Council and Chappel’s Millennium Green Trust.
