Many people in both Chappel and Wakes Colne have expressed
an interest in seeing Neighbourhood Watch being revitalised in our villages and so
the Colchester Co-ordinator and local Crime Reduction Officer were recently
invited to the village hall to let us know how it all works.
Neighbourhood Watch is as important as ever to the Police
and the scheme has been brought right up to date using e mails, web sites and
mobile phone numbers direct to the neighbourhood officer. (Our Neighbourhood
Police Officer is Pc Joanne Barlow and her mobile number for non emergency
calls is 07966 197134)
The Neighbourhood watch scheme would like as many people as possible to get involved - from
looking after a neighbour’s house while they are on holiday to street
co-ordinators that information can be sent to. They are looking for
people to co-ordinate the areas of Rose Green, The Street, Swan
Street, Spring Gardens
Road, Crepping Hall Road,
Lower Green, Middle Green, Station Road
and Wakes Street. It won’t involve too much work just occasional distributing of relevant
information.
They will send out further information in the near future
but if you would like to discuss any concerns or ask any questions please give Alan a call on the number below.
Alan Seymour 01787 227345.
We will attach here copies of any information published by the Neighbourhood Watch scheme, so please visit this part of the website again for updates.
