There are seven Parish Councillors in Chappel - they are (in alphabetical order and pictured from left to right):

Richard Belcham.  Richard has lived in Chappel for 5 years.  He’s Director of PR for a marketing agency and a freelance feature writer.  He’s married to Angela, drives a Smart car and has two hairy Jack Russell terriers.

Susan Chamley (Chair). Sue has lived at Bacons Farm with her husband James and 11 year old son Harry for 6 years. Aside from her work on the farm she also works at a solicitors practice in Colchester as a legal secretary.

Christopher Cordingley.  Chris has lived in the village for over 33 years and is a retired employee of a national bank. He has been involved in many village activities, is a Churchwarden and treasurer of the Church.

Tony Langley. Tony is a teacher who has lived in Chappel with his family for the last 6 years. He has organised fund raisers for the new play equipment, been active in Millennium Green events and opened his garden last year for the Church.

Helen Leftley. Helen and her husband John have lived in Chappel for over 25 years.  She has three grown up children who were all brought up in Chappel and attended the Primary School.  Helen served as Parent Governor at the Chappel School and has also been involved with many of the village fundraising projects – including the original play equipment, Chappel open gardens and Chappel Millennium Green.

Peter Neubauer (Vice Chair). Peter and his wife Jan moved to Chappel 5 years ago. They have three daughters all now in their 20s. Peter is a Consultant Engineer and has been running his own practice for ten years.
